The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in power tariffs under monthly fuel cost adjustments and a quarterly tariff adjustment in a welcome move for electricity consumers across the country.
The relief will be reflected in electricity bills issued in May 2025.
According to NEPRA’s official notifications:
- K-Electric consumers will benefit from a Rs3.64 per unit reduction in electricity prices. This relief has been granted under the monthly fuel adjustment for February 2025.
- Consumers in the rest of the country (excluding Karachi) will see a reduction of 29 paisa per unit under the monthly adjustment for March 2025.
- Additionally, NEPRA has approved a further reduction of Rs 1.55 per unit under the third quarterly adjustment of the ongoing fiscal year.
NEPRA has issued separate notifications for all adjustments, ensuring transparency in the process. The authority confirmed that these reductions apply to electricity users across Pakistan, including those served by K-Electric.
