PML-N offers Fazl to jointly contest Senate elections in KP

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has offered the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) to jointly contest Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Senate elections.

According to details, the inside story revealed that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also suggested the PML-N to take the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on board, during his meeting with adviser to the prime minister, Rana Sanaullah. Rehman has also assured placing the governmental proposals before the parliamentary party.

It was the agenda of the PML-N to talk about electoral alliances on the Senate seats in KP. Sanaullah has offered Rehman to jointly contest Senate elections in KP.

Sources divulged that Rehman has given a positive response to the PML-N’s offer. Sanaullah apprised Rehman of talks with the PPP, saying, “We [PML-N] are also holding talks with the PPP, but first it was important to take you [Fazlur Rehman] on board.”

It is expected that the PML-N-led delegation would also hold talks with the PPP within the next few days. All three parties would jointly contest the Senate elections in KP if the PPP agrees.

The ruling party would take the Awami National Party (ANP) on board over the matter.

Separately, earlier on Wednesday, Sanaullah held a meeting in Islamabad with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, accompanied by Federal Minister Amir Muqam, Sanaullah discussed current political developments. The meeting was also attended by Akram Khan Durrani, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman, Senator Kamran Murtaza, Senator Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, and Maulana Asad Mehmood.

During the meeting, the political situation in the country, particularly the upcoming Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), was discussed. Sanaullah stated that the PML-N regularly consults Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who believes in dialogue and mutual understanding.
