Security forces have thwarted another infiltration attempt by militants from the Pak-Afghan border, arresting five suspected suicide bombers, all of whom are Afghan nationals aged between 15 and 18 years, security sources confirmed.
On the evening of July 17, militants tried to infiltrate Pakistani territory.
Upon receiving intelligence, security forces established blockades at five different points. The infiltrators advanced towards Aziz Khel and Mandi Khel areas but, upon encountering heavy security presence, sought refuge in a mosque in Baisi Khel.
Security forces quickly surrounded the mosque and, through a strategic operation, compelled the militants to surrender without resistance. Among the arrested, three individuals were found carrying Afghan national identity cards.
All suspects have been moved to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
Security in the border areas has been heightened with an ongoing search operation underway. Authorities highlighted that this is not an isolated incident.
In previous encounters, 71 militants were killed in North Waziristan during operations from April 25 to 27. On July 4, 30 India-backed militants were killed while attempting to cross the border, and on March 23, 16 militants were eliminated during another infiltration attempt.
