Major, soldier martyred in Balochistan operation against Indian-sponsored terrorists

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mastung District, Balochistan, on reported presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan yesterday.

According to the military’s media wing, troops effectively engaged the terrorist hideout during the operation.

In the ensuing exchange of intense fire, three terrorists were killed. However, two soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom. Major Zeeyyad Salim Awal, aged 31, and a resident of district Khushab, laid down his life while leading the troops from the front. Alongside him, 22-year-old Sepoy Nazam Hussain from District Jhelum also embraced martyrdom.

Clearance operation continues

A sanitisation operation is underway to ensure complete elimination of any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists in the vicinity, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Security forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate foreign-backed militancy and uphold national peace through such valiant sacrifices, the ISPR added.
