Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andarabi has said that India’s decision to reopen its embassy in Afghanistan is an internal matter between the two countries, and Pakistan does not comment on the internal affairs of other states.
However, he remarked that India’s past role in Afghanistan has not been very positive, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
Speaking at his weekly press briefing, Andarabi said that during the Doha talks, an agreement and signatures were made on a specific document, and it makes no difference whether the Afghan Taliban government now refers to it as an agreement or not.
Regarding the Kunar River issue, he said Pakistan would continue to adhere to international laws, adding that due to the security situation over the past week, border crossings with Afghanistan would remain closed.
The FO spokesperson said that the safety of every ordinary Pakistani citizen is more important than trade or the movement of goods.
Commenting on the situation in Gaza, Andarabi said that Israel is committing blatant violations of all international laws, and Pakistan will continue to highlight these violations at every forum.
Tahir Andarabi added that Pakistan is closely monitoring the developments in Gaza and the actions that have led to Israel’s continued aggression.
He reiterated that the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state remains the only viable roadmap to peace, a position to which Pakistan remains firmly committed.
