Pakistan’s young fast bowler Salmán Mirza expressed his delight after delivering a match-winning performance in the second T20I against South Africa, saying it felt special to make a strong impact on his return to the national side.
Speaking at a post-match press conference, Salmán said, “When you’re part of the team, you always have to be ready.
It feels great when you make a comeback and put in a match-winning performance.”
The right-arm pacer, who took three crucial wickets, credited the team’s bowling coach for helping him improve through structured planning.
“I’ve improved by following the plan given by our bowling coach,” he added.
Salmán also dedicated his impressive performance to his mother, saying, “Today’s performance is for my mother.”
Discussing match conditions, the Lahore-born bowler said he quickly assessed the nature of the pitch.
“After bowling a couple of deliveries, you get a fair idea about the pitch,” he noted.
Having represented Lahore Qalandars in domestic cricket, Salmán said his experience of playing in Lahore gave him a natural advantage.
“When you play in your home conditions, you understand them better — and that really helps,” he concluded.
