DOHA: First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari on Friday said that empowering women is the key to unlocking the doors of sustainable development.
Addressing a ceremony in Doha focused on women’s empowerment, Aseefa Bhutto said that national progress depends on the equal participation of both women and men. She added that Pakistan has taken revolutionary steps to empower women.
She reflected on Pakistan proud legacy of women’s leadership, recalling the contributions of Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah and Benazir Bhutto, the first female prime minister of the Muslim World.
Aseefa Bhutto further said that women’s empowerment in Pakistan reflects the vision and courage of some extraordinary women. She also appreciated global efforts aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering women.
