The Pakistan Customs foiled a drug smuggling attempt in Dera Ismail Khan and recovered more than fifteen kilograms of foreign-made ice, valued at over Rs910 million.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the narcotics were concealed inside specially designed inverters and recovered during an operation carried out on a passenger bus.
The FBR said that while the seized drugs were being transferred to a government warehouse, miscreants opened fire on the customs team. However, due to the prompt, courageous and professional response of the officers, all personnel remained unharmed.
The seized narcotics were secured, while the Pakistan Army and police reached the scene and provided immediate assistance.
