Transport operations, loading and unloading at ports were disrupted as the strike by goods transporters in Karachi against the Traffic Ordinance, 2025 entered its fourth day on Thursday.
On the other hand, transporters have announced they will address a press conference at 2:00 PM today.
They have vowed that they will not end their strike till their all demands are accepted.
On Wednesday, on the third day of the strike, 24News TV channel reported that the supply of goods from Karachi to other cities across Pakistan had halted completely.
Unloading of goods at ports, factories, godowns, and mills also remained suspended due to the strike.
Earlier on December 8, 2025, transporters in Karachi announced a wheel-jam strike against the ordinance.
Malik Shehzad Awan, President of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance, said only trucks and containers carrying export goods would be allowed to reach the port.
“After unloading, all vehicles and containers will stop in protest,” he added.
Awan added that their drivers were sent to police lockup despite their demand to withdraw the FIRs.
At present, trucks, dumpers, containers, and other heavy vehicles are parked at the Karachi Truck Stand.
He said that the strike would continue until the federal, Punjab, and Sindh governments met the transporters’ demands.
