Pakistan to host SAFF Boys U17 Championship 2026

Pakistan has secured the hosting rights for the SAFF (South Asian Football Federation) Boys Under-17 Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in August 2026.

The announcement was made by Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif through a message on social media platform X, where he described the development as a proud moment for Pakistan and a major step toward the return of international football to the country.

“This is a historic occasion, as multinational football is returning to Pakistan after a long gap,” Khawaja Asif said, stressing the importance of the event.

The minister credited the achievement to the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), praising its professional approach, tireless efforts, and clear vision in successfully securing the hosting rights.

He expressed confidence that the SAFF U-17 Championship would enhance Pakistan’s global image while providing young footballers with valuable exposure and high-level competitive experience.

The hosting of the SAFF Boys U-17 Championship 2026 is widely seen as a key step toward revitalising football in Pakistan.
