Nawaz Sharif celebrates 76th birthday

A ceremony was held in PP-150, Lahore on Wednesday to celebrate the birthdays of Father of the Nation Quad-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Christmas, it was reported on Thursday.

Khawaja Imran Nazir, Punjab Minister for Health, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

A large number of PML-N workers, who were present on the occasion, raised slogans in support of Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Speaking on the occasion, the provincial minister said that Nawaz was that leader who had the courage to call spade a spade. “It is Nawaz to whom goes the credit of making Pakistan’s defence impregnable,” he said and added that the foundation of the country’s success in Operation Bunyanun Marsus had been laid on May 28, 1998 when Pakistan had detonated nukes.”

Nazir further said that it was the former prime minister who put the country on the path to progress. “He is the symbol of service to people and development,” he said, and added that Nawaz pulled the country out of crises.

The minister, on the occasion, prayed for the long life of the PML-N president.

He claimed that those who tried to corner Nawaz had been rejected by the people in elections. “All conspiracies hatched against him have been foiled. And the people have declared their verdict.”

Nazir was of the view that Pakistan no longer needed experimentation but a leader like Nawaz. “His opponents kept levelling allegations against him. But in the meantime, the former prime minister delivered on his promises.”

He, on the occasion, vowed to spread the PML-N president’s narrative to every nook and corner of the country. “We stand by him, and will continue to stand by him,” the minister vowed.
