All-rounder Faheem Ashraf’s devastating bowling spell supported the Rangpur Riders’ convincing victory over Chattogram Royals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Batting first, Chattogram Royals were bowled out for a modest total of 102 runs in 17.5 overs.
Opener Mohammad Naim top-scored with 39 runs off 20 balls, while Mirza Baig contributed 20 runs from 24 deliveries.
The rest of the batting lineup failed to offer resistance against Rangpur’s disciplined bowling attack.
Faheem Ashraf claimed five wickets for just 17 runs in 3.5 overs.
He received effective support from Mustafizur Rahman, who picked up two wickets in his three-over spell.
In reply, Rangpur Riders comfortably chased down the target, reaching the required total in 15 overs for the loss of three wickets.
England batter Dawid Malan continued his impressive form, scoring 51 runs off 48 balls to guide his team home.
For his outstanding bowling performance, Faheem Ashraf was named Player of the Match.
