Director General of the Punjab Sports Board (PSB) and Youth Affairs, Khizer Afzal Chaudhary, has congratulated the Punjab Weightlifting Association (PWA) for their outstanding performance at the 35th National Games held in Karachi.
According to Sohail Javed Butt, focal person for the PWA, the Punjab team showcased exceptional skill and strength, securing a total of eight medals, including one gold and seven bronze.
DG Chaudhary extended his felicitations to PWA president Jibran bin Salman and secretary general Aqeel Javed Butt, who is himself an accomplished weightlifter, having won a bronze medal at the World Weightlifting Cup in Iran.
The PWA expressed its appreciation for the support of the PSB, highlighting the significance of high-performance training camps and specialized coaching in achieving the results.
In addition, the association called for the employment of medal-winning athletes to ensure their continued growth and support in the sport.
