Legendary comedian Rangeela remembered on 89th birthday

Renowned Pakistani actor Rangeela is being remembered on his 89th birthday.

Rangeela, born Muhammad Saeed Khan on January 1, 1937, rose to fame as a comic actor but also demonstrated his talent in serious roles. In addition to acting, Rangeela developed a keen interest in bodybuilding and physical exercise during his teenage years.

Rangeela gained fame as a comic actor while also performing notable work in serious roles.

Rangeela produced and directed his first film, Diya aur Toofan, in 1969, in which Ijaz and Firdous played the lead roles. He also excelled as a singer, and his song Ga Mairay Manwa Gata Ja Ray became a hit.

Veteran comedian Rangeela also delivered an enthralling performance as ‘Mangoo’ in the 1973 hit Insaan aur Gadha.

The legendary actor has passed away on May 24, 2005, in Lahore at the age of 68, due to a cardiac arrest.
