Pakistan fall to arch-rivals India in thrilling SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship clash

Pakistan suffered a narrow defeat against traditional rivals India in a thrilling encounter of the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship currently underway in Thailand, it was reported on Monday.

According to details, India won the high-intensity match 5-3 after a closely contested first half, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Both teams displayed aggressive play and strong defensive efforts before the break.

In the second half, Pakistan managed to score two goals, while India capitalised on key opportunities to net four goals, eventually sealing the match in their favour.

 

Despite the loss, Pakistan’s performance remained commendable, especially as the Pakistan women’s futsal team is participating in the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship for the first time.

Pakistan will face Nepal in their next match on January 21 as the team looks to bounce back in the regional tournament.

The SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship features top South Asian teams and is being hosted in Thailand.
