PARACHINAR: The Pakistan Army has launched immediate rescue and relief operations in Orakzai and Kurram districts following heavy rainfall and snowfall that blocked key roads and disrupted daily life.
In Orakzai, severe snowfall had completely cut off access to several areas, including the village of Kalaya Darbar, hindering transportation and delaying funerals.
The army deployed heavy machinery and personnel to clear the roads, allowing locals to conduct funeral prayers and burials with dignity.
Despite extremely harsh weather conditions, the operation was successfully completed.
Similarly, in Kurram district, the army initiated emergency rescue efforts. Using heavy machinery, the 8-kilometer Taudo Obu Road was restored, while the Manato Sada Road remained closed due to continuous snow. Several vehicles stranded due to road closures were safely rescued and transported to secure locations.
The Pakistan Army’s prompt and coordinated response ensured that communities affected by the extreme weather received timely assistance and crucial access to essential routes.
