Pakistan is launching a big polio vaccination campaign starting February 2, 2026. In this drive, over 400,000 health workers will go door-to-door to make sure every child gets vaccinated.
Around 45 million children across the country are expected to benefit from this campaign.Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s special person for polio, said the workers play a very important role.

Polio is still a problem in some areas of Pakistan. Last year, 31 children were diagnosed with polio. Most of these cases came from southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Karachi also found the virus in some environmental tests.
On the other hand, Balochistan has not reported any polio cases for over 15 months, and Lahore has seen a big decrease in virus detection.
This nationwide campaign aims to reach even the hardest-to-reach areas. By visiting homes directly, health workers can make sure no child is left behind. Parents are asked to cooperate and allow their children to get the polio drops.
The government and health officials believe that working together—health workers, media, and parents—can finally stop polio in Pakistan. The door-to-door vaccination method is very effective and has been used for many years to fight polio.
