Pakistan Customs destroys smuggled goods worth Rs812.125 million in Dera Ismail Khan

Dera Ismail Khan: In line with directives from the federal government of Pakistan, the Pakistan Customs has destroyed narcotics and other illegal, hazardous goods worth Rs812.125 million in Dera Ismail Khan.

The destruction ceremony was held at Ratta Kulachi Stadium in the presence of media representatives.

Addressing the event, Assistant Collector Customs Umar Jan said the confiscated goods had been seized during various anti-smuggling operations and were being disposed of in accordance with the law.

He stated that the action not only reaffirms Pakistan Customs’ firm commitment to curbing smuggling but also serves as a practical demonstration of eliminating goods that pose serious threats to public health and societal values.

Umar Jan added that the primary objective of the operation is to prevent smuggling, safeguard legal trade, and protect national revenue.

According to details shared at the ceremony, the destroyed items included 60,597 kilograms of betel nut (Chhalia) worth Rs121 million. 129,472 sleeves of cigarettes valued at Rs534.44 million. 30,670 kilograms of Chinese salt worth Rs50.78 million. Liquor and other narcotics valued at Rs105.905 million.

Officials reiterated that strict action against smuggling networks will continue to ensure economic stability and public safety.
