Disney+ and Miley Cyrus officially confirm ‘Hannah Montana’ 20th anniversary special

After weeks of online speculation, Disney+ and singer-actor Miley Cyrus have officially confirmed a 20th anniversary special for Hannah Montana, set to premiere March 24 on the streaming platform hosted by Alex Cooper from Call Her Daddy.

Rumors began circulating earlier this year after Cyrus suggested in public remarks and on social media that she was planning “something special” to mark the milestone. The speculation intensified as fans revisited archival clips and cast memories shared online. Disney+ formally confirmed the project through a coordinated announcement on its verified Instagram account.

The teaser video accompanying the announcement shows a vehicle with a “HM 20” license plate arriving at the studio lot where the original Disney Channel series was filmed. As the car door opens, the show’s theme song, “The Best of Both Worlds,” plays, followed by a close-up of glittering boots a visual nod to the character’s signature pop-star persona.
On 24th March.

Cyrus shared the same video on her personal Instagram account with the caption, “Going back to where it all began.”
Originally premiering in 2006, Hannah Montana followed teenager Miley Stewart as she balanced ordinary life with a secret identity as an international pop star. The series ran for four seasons and became one of Disney Channel’s most successful franchises, spawning chart-topping soundtracks, a feature film and sold-out concert tours.

While Disney has not announced plans for a live tour, fan enthusiasm has been immediate. One social media user wrote, “I would sell a lung for a Hannah Montana tour,” reflecting ongoing demand for a return to the stage.
Additional details about the anniversary special, including potential guest appearances, have yet to be released.
