Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has clarified that she does not fast during Ramadan, despite curiosity from fans and social media users.
Muslims around the world fast during the holy month of Ramadan, currently underway. This has sparked curiosity on social media about whether Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, married to Saif Ali Khan, also observes the fast.
In a resurfaced video showing Kareena clarifies that she does not fast during Ramadan. In the clip, when a reporter asks her about fasting, Kareena replies, “No, I am eating 24×7.”
When asked if she ever keeps roza, she adds, “No, not at all. I have never done that in my life.”
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan fell in love while shooting their 2008 film Tashan and married in a private civil ceremony in Mumbai in October 2012.
The couple has two sons, Taimur and Jeh and celebrates festivals from both religions, including Holi and Diwali. Kareena has not converted to Islam.
In an old interview with Rajeev Masand, Saif also clarified that he would never want Kareena to change her religion: “I would never want her to change her religion.
That is the trouble with religion really… it expects conversion. I don’t buy or believe that,” he said, adding that the Special Marriage Act allows couples to marry without changing their faith.
