Authorities have launched an investigation into the recent Moscow tour of the Pakistan Kyokushin Karate team, amid complaints suggesting that some members may have used the trip to attempt illegal migration to Europe.
The National Cup Karate Tournament, held from February 28 to March 2 in Moscow, is reportedly being used as a cover for human trafficking. Officials say they will verify the full list of participants and take strict action against anyone found remaining in Russia or attempting to flee abroad.
Investigators are also looking into officials from sports federations and associations who may have facilitated such movements. All organizations will be required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Sports Board to ensure transparency and prevent fake players from joining teams and disappearing overseas.
Authorities warn that similar incidents have allegedly occurred in football, futsal, and squash over the past few years. The investigation aims to curb the misuse of sports events for illegal migration and protect the country’s reputation.
