Hina Afridi, renowned Pakistani model and television actress, has opened up about her recent wedding and defended her pre-Nikah demands from husband Taimoor Akbar. The actress, known for dramas like Pehli Si Mohabbat, Akhara, and Raaja Rani, tied the knot on January 16, 2026, in a ceremony that quickly trended on social media due to its viral Nikah and dholki events.
During an appearance on the talk show Hasna Mana Hai, Afridi addressed criticism she received over her jewelry and wedding demands. “I didn’t pay attention to trolling about my Nikah. That’s their problem, not mine,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of women knowing their rights before marriage. “Regarding Nikah demands, it is every girl’s right to ask for what she wants from her husband. People don’t know all the private requests I made, which he fulfilled. Every girl should be aware of her rights and never settle for less,” she added.
Afridi also shared an intriguing Pakhtoon wedding custom. She explained, “In some Pakhtoon tribes, when the Barat arrives, the bride’s family fires shots near the groom’s feet. If he gets scared and runs, the marriage is canceled. This tradition is still observed in Peshawar, as told to us by our relatives.
Earlier, Pakistani model and actress Hina Afridi, known for hit dramas like Pehli Si Mohabbat, Akhara, and Raaja Rani, recently became emotional while talking about the loss of her mother. The moment occurred during a podcast with Azfar Rehman, a clip of which is circulating widely on social media.
Hina, who is currently receiving praise for her performance in Ghulam Bashah Sundri on Green Entertainment, reflected on the void her mother’s death left in her life. She said her mother was always a source of prayer and protection during her career. “It was so difficult to cope with my mother’s loss; it’s almost impossible to forget someone who always prayed for you,” she shared, visibly emotional.
