US limits pause on Iran strikes to energy sites while military operations continue

The United States plans to continue its strikes on Iran, while temporarily pausing attacks only on Tehran’s energy infrastructure. This limited pause comes during what President Donald Trump described as “productive” discussions with Iranian representatives, although their identities remain unclear.

Earlier, Trump delayed a proposed attack on Iran’s power plants and broader energy network for five days. However, Iranian officials rejected claims that any negotiations with Washington had taken place.

A US official clarified that the pause applies strictly to energy-related targets. Military sites, naval forces, ballistic missile systems, and defense facilities remain active targets, and operations under the initiative known as “Epic Fury” will proceed without interruption.

Officials have not yet issued formal statements, as the White House, State Department, and Pentagon did not respond to inquiries outside regular hours. Reports also indicate that Israel did not take part in these discussions between Washington and Tehran.
