Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has revealed the number of registered patients of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/AIDS in Pakistan.
During a question hour session in the National Assembly, details regarding the number of HIV/AIDS patients in the country were presented to the House.
The Federal Minister stated that approximately 84,421 HIV/AIDS patients are registered in Pakistan under the National AIDS Control Program.
Syed Mustafa Kamal further said that the highest number of AIDS patients is in Punjab and Sindh. Across the country, free antiretroviral therapy is being provided through 98 treatment centers.
