Islamabad United create PSL history with record 80-ball win

Islamabad United delivered a record-shattering performance in the Pakistan Super League Season 11, crushing Hyderabad Kingsmen by eight wickets in a one-sided encounter at the National Bank Stadium.

The match turned into a historic showcase as Islamabad United chased down a target of just 81 runs in spectacular fashion, losing only two wickets and finishing the game with a massive 80 balls to spare—setting a new PSL record for the fastest successful chase in terms of balls remaining.

The star of the chase was debutant Mohsin Riaz, who played a fearless knock of 42 off just 18 deliveries. His innings included six boundaries and two towering sixes, immediately announcing his arrival on the big stage.

Opening partner Sameer Minhas provided calm support with an unbeaten 27 off 20 balls, ensuring there were no hiccups in the chase.

Earlier in the match, Hyderabad Kingsmen suffered a dramatic collapse after being asked to bat first. The Islamabad bowling attack dismantled their lineup, bowling them out for just 80 runs in 15.5 overs.

Only wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan showed resistance with an unbeaten 25 off 35 balls, while brief contributions from Saim Ayub, Kusal Perera, and Asif Mehmood helped them reach a modest total.

The 80-run score also went down in history as the lowest total ever recorded at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium in PSL history, further underlining Islamabad United’s dominance in the match.

With this emphatic victory, Islamabad United not only strengthened their position in the tournament but also rewrote PSL record books, delivering one of the most one-sided and fastest finishes ever seen in league history.
