Police constable martyred in deadly Pishin checkpost attack

Pishin: A police constable was martyred in a terrorist attack on a checkpost in the Killi Harmezai area of Pishin district, Balochistan, on Monday evening.

According to police officials, armed attackers opened indiscriminate fire on the checkpost. The attack was sudden and intense.

A police constable was critically injured in the firing. He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, he could not survive and later died of his injuries.

The attackers fled the scene immediately after the assault. Their identity and number are still unknown.

Security forces reached the area soon after the incident. The entire locality was cordoned off. A search operation was launched to track down the attackers.

Additional forces were deployed in the surrounding areas. Authorities are trying to trace the suspects through intelligence and field operations.

The martyred constable was described as a committed and experienced officer. His colleagues expressed deep grief over his death.

Senior police officials visited the hospital and condoled with the family. They assured full support and assistance.

Police strongly condemned the attack. Officials called it a cowardly act of terrorism. They pledged to bring those responsible to justice.

Balochistan has seen a rise in attacks targeting security forces in recent weeks. Law enforcement agencies have conducted several operations against militants in different areas.
