FBR faces Rs73 billion shortfall in April 2026

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) faced a revenue shortfall of Rs73 billion during the month of April 2026, it was reported on Friday.

According to sources, the FBR collected Rs956 billion during the month of April 2026. The assigned target of FBR for the month of April was Rs1,029 billion.

The FBR collected Rs446 billion under the head of income tax during the month of April 2026. In April 2026, the FBR collected Rs320 billion under the head of sales tax.

FBR generated Rs125 billion during the head of customs duty and collected Rs65 billion under the head of federal excise duty (FED) in April 2026.

Sources said that FBR faced shortfall of Rs683 billion from April 2025 to April 2026.
