The federal government on Tuesday decided to conduct an information technology (IT)-based census in the country.
According to details, the Federal Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) will join hands for conducting the digital census.
Officials said that the purpose of this census is to collect data on youth to determine their digital qualities. Data from the IT world force will be generated through these censuses.
Video editors, freelancers, and employees of the call centers will be included in the census.
The government will review the qualities of employees working in the call centers. This step will help to introduce more reforms in the information technology industry.
Officials said that this is the first time in Pakistan’s history that reliable data will be generated. The government will hire the services of 180 to 200 experts for this purpose.
The Ministry of Information Technology will bear all the expenditure of the census.
