Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has looked back at her iconic song “Billi” from Na Maloom Afraad, saying she still feels proud of what the team achieved despite the physically exhausting shoot and long working hours.
During a recent episode of Something Haute, Mehwish Hayat shared memories from filming the popular dance number and revealed that the shoot was far more difficult than it appeared on screen.
The actress said the song was filmed over three continuous nights, with shooting starting in the evening and continuing until early morning on a hard wooden floor.
According to Mehwish, the intense shoot badly affected her feet and knees but she still remembers the experience as exciting and enjoyable because the final result turned out “amazing.”
She also admitted that the style and execution of the dance sequence was something she had never attempted before, which made the performance even more memorable for her.
Mehwish Hayat described “Billi” as a bold turning point in her career. Moving from television dramas to films, she said the performance pushed her out of her comfort zone and showed audiences a completely different side of her.

The actress said the project has been one of the most exciting and challenging experiences of her career. She praised the filmmakers for introducing a zombie survival action-thriller to mainstream Pakistani cinema, saying it is a genre audiences around the world have enjoyed for years.
Mehwish added that Pakistani cinema should also explore different kinds of stories and large-scale productions instead of staying limited to traditional genres.
Talking about her bond with Fahad Mustafa, the actress joked that although they have worked together in only a few films, their chemistry makes it feel as if they have done “30 films together.”
