Farhan Saeed’s honest take on being ‘insecure’ while playing struggling characters

Pakistani actor and singer Farhan Saeed has opened up about playing simple and struggling characters on TV instead of always choosing glamorous hero roles.

During a recent appearance on a show hosted by entertainment journalist Maliha Rehman, Farhan Saeed appeared alongside actress Mamya Shajaffar.

The conversation began when the host pointed out that many performers prefer playing polished billionaire type heroes who arrive in luxury cars and always look perfect on screen.

However, according to Farhan, he personally enjoys portraying ordinary and emotionally layered characters who feel realistic and imperfect.

Speaking about his choices, Farhan said he has never felt insecure about playing non-glamorous roles because he already experiences glamour in real life through his music career.

“I am not insecure regarding the depiction of non glamorous characters on TV because I live that life for real on stage every week, with bouncers,” Farhan said during the conversation.

He added that he finds greater excitement in playing characters who feel raw, troubled, vulnerable or emotionally broken rather than only portraying idealized heroes.

The discussion comes as Farhan Saeed and Mamya Shajaffar prepare for the release of their upcoming Eid-ul-Adha film Luv Di Saun.

According to the trailer, the story revolves around Farhan’s character falling deeply in love with Mamya Shajaffar’s character before discovering details about her profession, leading to emotional conflict between the two.

The teaser also hints at a strong villain element and emotional twists that audiences will fully discover after the film’s Eid release.

The movie features both Punjabi and Urdu dialogue, while the soundtrack has also been sung by Farhan Saeed himself.

Directed by Syed Faisal Bukhari, the film is produced by ARY Films, Parvez Malik Films, and Salman Iqbal Films. The cast includes Farhan Saeed, Mamya Shajaffar, and Babar Ali.
