PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar denies all allegations, says Momina playing women’s card

PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar has denied allegations levelled against him by actress Momina Iqbal, claiming he has had no contact with the actress for the past eight months.

In an explanatory statement that surfaced on Friday, the PML-N lawmaker said Momina Iqbal was “playing the women card” and insisted that he possessed complete records related to the matter.

Saqib Chadhar claimed that the actress’s fiancé threatened him after watching a video and said he had filed a complaint at a police station regarding the alleged threats.

The lawmaker further stated that he had recently learned about Momina Iqbal’s reported plans to get married.

He also claimed that the actress’s mother had contacted him and apologised, though no independent confirmation of the claim was immediately available.

Rejecting allegations that he had made phone calls or engaged in harassment, Saqib Chadhar said that evidence should be presented if such claims existed.

The statement comes amid an ongoing controversy after Momina Iqbal accused the PML-N lawmaker of harassment, cyberbullying and leaking private photos and videos. The matter is currently under review by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, which has issued a notice to the lawmaker.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said the case would be investigated transparently and strictly in accordance with the law, warning that no one would be allowed to harass or exploit women under any circumstances.
