Popular Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat is leaving fans excited as she continues promoting her upcoming film Zombied, while recently opening up about the intense preparation and hard work she put into her role.
During her appearance on Nukta Pakistan, the actress candidly spoke about playing a Zumba trainer in the film and revealed how seriously she prepared for the character before shooting began.
During the candid discussion, Mehwish Hayat stated: “ Jab mujy pata chala ky mujy Zumba trainer ka role play karna hai tou I actually went to LA fitness. Aur wahan jaake mein ny Zumba ki classes li aur maine apni training waghera ki while I was there kyunki maine prep shuru kar di thi Mujhe tha ke, because it’s something new and I want to look like a Zumba trainer. I want to know how to Zumba trait dancers or trainers train students. Toh jaake maine classes li phir saath saath jahan pe jab hum aaye hain toh humne jo hai wo sessions kiye, kuch cheezon mein hum n discussions kie and I think from the on set we all knew what we wanted to achieve. So, us hisaab se jo hai wo bohat maza aaya process mein aur zahir hai hamare around sab zombies thay outbreak hota hai zombies ka toh usmein hamary liye it was so much fun just seeing all of that you know jab hum set py hoty thy toh jis tarhan getup kar ky boys and girls aarhe hoty thay, aur hum bada excited hooke, oh my God this is looking so good aur khud hamare bhi, hum khoon mein lahu luhaan ho jaty thay because of the scenes. It was very difficult but it was so much fun also so I think all the hard work that went into shooting this will be rewarding for all of us.”
(When I found out that I had to play the role of a Zumba trainer, I actually went to LA Fitness. I took Zumba classes there and did my training while I was there because I had already started my preparation. I felt that since it’s something new, I want to look like a Zumba trainer. I wanted to know how Zumba dancers or trainers actually train their students. So, I went and took those classes, and then along with that, when we arrived here, we did sessions and had discussions about a few things. I think from the very beginning, we all knew exactly what we wanted to achieve. So, in that sense, the whole process was a lot of fun. And of course, we were surrounded by zombies; a zombie outbreak happens, so for us, it was so much fun just seeing all of that. You know, when we were on set and saw how the boys and girls would show up in full getup, we would get so excited like, ‘Oh my God, this is looking so good!’ Even we ourselves would end up completely drenched in blood because of the scenes. It was very difficult, but it was also so much fun, so I think all the hard work that went into shooting this will be rewarding for all of us.)
It is worth mentioning that Zombied is being promoted as one of Pakistan’s first horror-thriller zombie films and stars Fahad Mustafa alongside Mehwish Hayat in lead roles.
