Farmers of the sunflower crop were waiting for buyers after the crop was ready for sale in Nowshera Jadeeb area of Bahawalpur District, it was reported on Saturday.
The farmers said that the rate of the sunflower crop was fixed at Rs6,000 per maund, but its cost is too high.
The farmers further complained that the prices of fertilizer and rising inflation have already broken their back.
Nowshera Jadeed farmers urged the government to take measures for the early sale of their sunflower crop.
They further said the federal and Punjab governments should fix the rate of sunflower at Rs10,000 per 40kg. They said that they do not agree with the formula to sell the sunflower crop at a lower rate.
