Punjab Budget 2026-27 proposals finalized

The Punjab government has finalized different budget proposals worth billions of rupees for the fiscal year 2026-27 involving various development projects, it was reported on Monday.

According to these budget proposals, Rs476.4 billion was allocated for the people’s welfare projects and Rs150 billion for waste management.

Rs80.1 billion were allocated for different subsidies, including transport and agriculture. Rs809 billion were allocated for the provision of medicines.

Rs50 billion will be spent on the social protection programme, and Rs54 billion were allocated for different blocks of population and health welfare blocks.

Rs35 billion will be spent on the Ramazan Package and Rs20 billion were allocated for different grants of government universities.

Rs8 billion will be spent on dealing with the challenges of climate change and Rs4 billion were allocated for the Himmat Card and Rs3 billion for the Minority Card.
