District West Police in Karachi have taken 27 Afghan nationals into protective custody over the past three days in a crackdown on illegal immigrants, it was reported on Tuesday.
Afghan nationals were detained from different areas during the last three days.
As many as eight Afghans were detained from Gulshan-e-Maymar, seven from Manghopir, six from Iqbal Market and three from Mominabad while two Afghans were detained in the operation of Orangi Town Police.
All Afghan nationals were transferred to Afghan refugee camp.
Further legal action was underway at GTC College refugee camp.
