Sanam Saeed shares reasons behind doing ‘Mein Manto Nahi Hoon’

Pakistani actress Sanam Saeed has finally revealed what convinced her to join the star-studded drama serial ‘Mein Manto Nahi Hoon’, opening up about her decision to return to television and work alongside some of the industry’s biggest names.

During a recent appearance on PTV, the acclaimed actress spoke candidly about her role in the hit drama and shared the reasons behind accepting the project after years of being selective with television appearances.

When asked why she chose to be part of Mein Manto Nahi Hoon, Sanam explained that the role itself appealed to her, particularly because she was excited to portray a teacher on screen.

“I liked the idea of playing a teacher for the first time. I was also looking forward to working with Humayun Saeed and Sajal Aly. I had never gotten the opportunity to work with Sajal before, so I thought this was the perfect chance.”

The actress further revealed that after spending several years away from regular television projects, she was not eager to jump into another demanding lead role.

“It had been seven years, and I didn’t want to take on a lead role immediately and get caught up in that exhausting routine. Sometimes it feels like hard labor because of the long schedules and workload.”

Sanam shared that the project’s manageable schedule and impressive cast played a major role in her decision.

“I thought, it’s only around 30 days of work, and Humayun, Sajal and Nadeem Baig are involved. I had previously turned down Nadeem Baig’s offers twice because things didn’t work out. When he approached me again, I felt I no longer had a valid reason to say no.”

The actress admitted that her respect for renowned director Nadeem Baig ultimately persuaded her to accept the role.

“When Nadeem called again, I said okay, let’s do it. I wanted to try something different, and that’s why I decided to give my character a distinct look with curly hair.”

During the interview, Sanam also shared her thoughts on the growing importance of social media in today’s entertainment industry.

When asked how important social media is for celebrities, she acknowledged that maintaining an online presence has become almost unavoidable.

“The reality is that if you’re not visible, people forget about you. There is so much information on social media and so many people competing for attention. If you disappear, you won’t stay in people’s minds. That’s why it’s important to keep showing up and remain visible.”

Sanam’s candid remarks have resonated with fans, who appreciated her honesty about the realities of acting, industry pressures, and the ever-growing influence of social media.
