ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has rejected the medical reports issued about his health. She said the family does not accept the government’s version of events.
She made the statement on social media platform X. She said earlier claims by PIMS had also been disputed by the family.
Aleema Khan referred to the latest medical update. It stated that Imran Khan underwent his fifth intravitreal eye injection as part of a scheduled treatment.
Aleema Khan said reports suggested that Imran Khan was again taken to PIMS on June 15. She said the family learned about it through a social media post.
She questioned why repeated eye injections were being given. She said the medical necessity of the treatment should be clarified.
She demanded that Imran Khan be examined by independent and qualified doctors. She suggested treatment at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.
She said this was an urgent requirement. She insisted that transparency in medical care must be ensured.
Aleema Khan also raised concerns about court orders. She said the family’s right to meet Imran Khan is being restricted.
She said a court order allows six family members to visit him every Tuesday. However, she claimed this order is not being fully implemented.
She added that over the past months, access has been limited. Only a few family meetings have taken place, she said.
Aleema Khan said jail rules guarantee basic rights for prisoners. These include medical care, family visits, and communication facilities.
She said Imran Khan should also be allowed contact with his sons. She added that lawyers and family should meet him regularly.
She further said families should be informed before any medical procedure. She stressed that this is required under legal and jail rules.
Imran Khan has been undergoing treatment for an eye condition. He has received multiple intravitreal injections in recent months.
Earlier reports showed mixed medical findings regarding his vision improvement. Doctors have monitored his condition through repeated examinations.
Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are currently in Adiala Jail. They were sentenced in December 2025 in the Toshakhana-II case.
They are also facing other legal cases related to protests and corruption allegations.
