Punjab Education Department has banned summer camps in schools from July 1 after heat intensity increased, it was reported on Tuesday.
Heavy fine or licence cancellation also hinted at for setting up summer camps from July 1.
Earlier, the government had allowed summer camps in schools until June 30.
Education authorities have informed schools about the ban on summer camps from July 1.
On the other hand, parents said students have to complete their homework for the summer holidays.
However, Education Department warned that strict action will be taken against setting up summer camps against government orders.
Education Department ordered education authorities to take action against schools for setting up summer camps without permission.
Selected teams of education authorities will visit schools on July 1.
