Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, saying its policies have become a burden for both the region and Israel itself.
Fidan said Netanyahu’s administration poses a challenge to international security and claimed that even US President Donald Trump understands the concerns linked to the Israeli government’s approach.
Speaking about the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the Turkish foreign minister alleged that after conflicts involving Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, Netanyahu now needs a new opponent to strengthen his political position.
Fidan claimed that Netanyahu and his allies are attempting to portray themselves as victims by highlighting new threats and seeking international sympathy.
He further alleged that Türkiye is now being presented as a possible adversary by Netanyahu’s government. According to Fidan, this strategy is aimed at creating a new focus amid growing political challenges.
