A transgender was shot dead and another critically injured after unknown assailants opened fire on them in the jurisdiction of Chamkani Police Station, in Peshawar.
The victim was identified as Mishal, while the injured transgender was identified as Baseer who was shifted to hospital for medical treatment. Police said an investigation were launched to arrest the attackers.
The murder of transgenders are common in Khyber Paktunkhawa. The human rights activists have renewed concerns over the safety of transgender community in the province.
