Different parts of the country would receive rains throughout next week, it was reported on Thursday.
Speaking to the 24News TV channel, Deputy Director Met Office Irfan Virk said that a rain-producing system would enter the country at the end of the ongoing week.
“Under the impact of the system, it would rain cats and dogs in different areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and KP,” he said, adding that showers were also expected in Rawalpindi and Islamabad as well as in north-east Punjab, central and southern Punjab.
Virk went on to say that rains were also likely in different areas of Sindh and Balochistan during the next week.
“Downpours may result in urban and flash flooding,” he said, adding that water levels in reservoirs would slightly improve as a result of rains.
He said that the country desperately needed rains at this stage because of the issue of water shortage.
