Three kids drown in Ravi River near Lahore

Three children lost their lives after drowning in the River Ravi in Lahore on Friday.

The first incident took place near Bund Road in Lahore where two children drowned, aged between nine and 10 years.

Rescue officials said that both children were walking on the bridge when somehow fell into the river after slipping due to heavy water flow.

In another incident, a nine-year-old boy Ali Hamza lost his life while he was swimming in the River Ravi near Saggian Shahdara.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shahdara, Station House Officer (SHO) Khurram Shehzad, and the in-charge chowki, along with Safe City cameras, are present on the site.

Rescue officials said that they are facing difficulty in rescue operation due to the heavy flow of water.

Assistant Superintendent City Atif Amir said that a search operation is still underway to recover the drowned child.

He said that the drowning of two children in the river while crossing the bridge is contrary to the facts.
