British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott met Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Monday and discussed development cooperation, investment opportunities and ways to strengthen bilateral ties.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed matters of mutual interest and explored possible cooperation in education, health, governance and investment in Balochistan.
Bugti briefed the British high commissioner on reforms and development initiatives being implemented by the provincial government.
He said maintaining peace, ensuring sustainable development and improving public welfare were the government’s top priorities in Balochistan.
The chief minister said cooperation with international partners was helping create new opportunities for economic development and prosperity in the province.
The meeting also considered possible areas in which the United Kingdom could support provincial development programmes and institutional reforms.
Marriott is serving as the British high commissioner to Pakistan, while Bugti is the current chief minister of Balochistan.
