The draws and groupings for the men’s and women’s cricket competitions at the 2026 Asian Games have been officially announced, with Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka securing direct places in the men’s knockout stage on the basis of their ICC rankings.
In the men’s event, Afghanistan, Japan and Nepal have been placed in Group A, while Hong Kong, Malaysia and Oman will compete in Group B during the preliminary round.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, where they will join Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the race for the medals.
The men’s cricket competition will be played in the T20 format in Nagoya, Japan, from September 24 to October 1.
The women’s tournament will begin on September 17, with the quarter-finals featuring India against Japan, Bangladesh against China, Sri Lanka against Malaysia, and Pakistan taking on Thailand.
The women’s cricket competition is scheduled to conclude on September 22.
