Oil Tankers Contractors Association’s 72-hour ultimatum worked as the Federal Minister for Petroleum has contacted the association, it was reported on Saturday.
In this regard President Abidullah Afridi has said that an important meeting will be held in Islamabad on Monday to discuss the demands.
He said that if the government accepted our demands, it will be announced and if the government does not accept our demands, the future course of action will also be announced.
Joint press conference of Pakistan oil tankers and contractors
Earlier, the government was given a 72-hour ultimatum in a joint press conference of Pakistan Oil Tankers Association.
They demanded for increase in quota of white oil pipeline.
Commercial loading should be ended immediately, tanker owners demanded.
Abidullah Afridi said oil tanker fares have not increased for three years.
Motorway and NHA toll tax have been increased by 180 percent, he said.
Freights should also be increased in proportion to the toll tax, he demanded.
He said negotiations and correspondence were ongoing for the past one and a half years.
OGRA and Petroleum Division forced them for strike, he added.
Abidullah said if the demands are not accepted, oil tankers will be stranded all over Pakistan.
