Ministers of the Balochistan government as well as their staff members have spent Rs130 million more than the budget allocated for them in the last financial year (FY), 2025-26, it was reported on Saturday.
Sources told the 24News TV channel that Rs761.8 million had been earmarked in the last (FY) for the salaries and incentives of ministers as well as their staffers.
However, at the end of the year, it was found out that Rs892.1 million had been spent.
Sources further said that the government had announced austerity measures in the wake of war in the Gulf, and had laid special emphasis on the judicious consumption of petrol.
However, the ministers and their staffers event spent more under the head of fuel consumption.
As many as Rs49 million had been set aside in the budget for the consumption of fuel, sources said, adding however, Rs62.1 million were spent.
