ISLAMABAD: Pakistan received $3.631 billion in remittances from overseas Pakistanis in July 2026, registering an increase of around 5% month-on-month and 13% year-on-year, according to data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Remittances stood at $3.475 billion in June 2026, while overseas Pakistanis sent $3.215 billion to Pakistan in July 2025, showing a substantial increase over the year.
Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances during July, with Pakistani workers sending $914 million home. Remittances from Saudi Arabia increased by 10% compared with the previous month and 11% compared with July 2025.
The United Arab Emirates was the second-largest source, contributing $737 million in remittances during the month. Pakistan also received $555 million from the United Kingdom and $317 million from the United States.
According to the figures, remittances from other Gulf countries amounted to $462 million in July 2026.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the $3.6 billion in remittances received in July and expressed satisfaction over the 13% year-on-year increase.
The prime minister said the rise in remittances reflected the continued contribution of overseas Pakistanis to the country’s economy. He also noted that remittances increased by around 4.5% on a monthly basis in July.
Shehbaz Sharif described overseas Pakistanis as a valuable part of the national economic framework and praised their continued role in supporting economic stability and growth.
He said the government would continue taking measures to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and address the issues they face.
