LAHORE: The Dr Gohar Ejaz-led group has secured a clean sweep in the annual elections of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA).
Asad Shafi has been elected as the Central Chairman of APTMA, while Siddiq Javed Bhatti has been elected Chairman of APTMA North.
The Gohar Ejaz group defeated its rival panel by a convincing 24-0 margin, securing victories across all seats contested in the elections.
Speaking at a press conference, APTMA Patron-in-Chief Dr Gohar Ejaz said the group had secured victory for the 17th consecutive time.
He said the textile sector accounts for more than 60 per cent of Pakistan’s total exports, highlighting its critical role in the country’s economy.
“The textile industry has raised Pakistan’s flag across the world,” Gohar Ejaz said, emphasizing the sector’s contribution to the country’s exports and international standing.
He congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and said the election results reflected the confidence of the textile industry in the group’s leadership.
