An improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle exploded in the Makeen Bazaar area of Upper South Waziristan, killing one person and injuring eight others.
According to the Dera Ismail Khan police officer, the injured were shifted to a nearby medical facility in Makeen for treatment.
Police cordoned off the area following the blast and registered a report. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances behind the attack.
