Pakistan and Rwanda have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, a spokesperson for the Embassy of Rwanda in Islamabad said.
Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry Tony Kajangwe signed the agreement on behalf of Rwanda, while Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Rwanda Naeem Khan signed it for Pakistan.
The MoU is intended to facilitate bilateral trade and strengthen direct partnerships between businesses in the two countries.
It also encourages the establishment of joint ventures and greater cooperation across a range of economic sectors.
Under the agreement, Pakistan and Rwanda will seek to enhance cooperation in manufacturing, industrial production, textiles and apparel.
The two countries will also promote collaboration in agriculture, tourism and transport.
The spokesperson said the agreement would provide a foundation for further strengthening trade relations, business-to-business cooperation and the broader economic partnership between Pakistan and Rwanda.
